Reading and Literacy Program

Improvement in reading skills will impact positively on all academic subjects as well as your child's self esteem.

The Assessment

A two hour assessment will consist of:

• Standardised testing of your child's reading, comprehension and spelling abilities by a special educator.
• A clinical evaluation of your child's language skills (CELF screening) by a paediatric speech pathologist.

The Intensive Reading Program

(30 individual sessions)

Following the assessment, you will have a consultation to design an individual program for your child. All programs are recognized by the Department of Education and are effective tools in developing literacy skills.

The intensive literacy program will consist of three sessions per week for a ten week period. Children with more complex needs may require subsequent programs.
