Child First - Paediatric Speech Pathology

Our senior Speech Pathologist Jennifer Kefford is an early intervention specialist providing assessment and intervention services for a broad range of disabilities including Autism Spectrum disorders; other neurological and brain injury; physical and intellectual disability; age related disabilities; developmental disorders; and developmental delays.

A combined treatment approach is taken with each child and at Child First we work collaboratively with Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Literacy Specialists to provide an individual program for each child.

At Child First we also provide:

• Assessment and intervention for general language and speech disorders
  
  
• Feeding/meal-time assessments and recommendations for positioning and equipment requirements
  
  
• Swallowing assessments and recommendations
  
  
• Assessment and training in the use of augmentative communication devices
• 
  

Our therapists provide a mobile service and can see children at home, school or in our rooms at Pymble.

Child First is an accredited Early Intervention Service provider for the “Helping Children with Autism” Package provided by the Govt. Dept. FaHCSIA.
