Child First - Paediatric Physiotherapy
Our paediatric physiotherapists are able to assist your baby or child with problems affecting their development of gross motor skills such as rolling, crawling, sitting, standing and walking.
The Team
Our team of paediatric physiotherapists is led by Joan Steele-Mills who has over 20 years of experience working with babies and children.
Joan has extensive experience working with children with disabilities as well as those who just aren’t quite getting their coordination and motor skills altogether!
Our paediatric physiotherapists are able to liaise with our speech pathologists and occupational therapists if there are other issues that you are concerned with.
Who We See
Babies and children with:
- Knocked knees and clicky hips
- Turned in feet and flat feet
Torticollis - persistent turning of the neck to one side
- Gross motor delay due to physical disabilities including cerebral palsy, Spina bifida and Down Syndrome
- Clumsy or poorly coordinated children
- Botulinum Toxin therapy programs
Intervention and Therapy
Not all children assessed will require therapy but our physiotherapists are able to assure parents that their child is developing normally. In the event that therapy is required the program for your child will be fun. Intervention includes challenging physical activities, education re positioning, handling and stretches, splinting and casting, advice on play and sport activities. |
